Positive Approach to Student Success(PASS)/Behavior Support Aide

2024-2025 School Year
Primary Purpose:
Assist classroom teachers with behavior and instructional support. Assist teachers in the classroom preparation and management, including diffusing disruptive student behavior to refocus and transition students into classroom activities. Work directly under the supervision of the PASS teacher and campus principal.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Have met formal academic assessment, associate’s degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning ESSA requirement - preferred
Have valid Texas educational aide certificate - preferred
CPI Trained - preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to follow verbal and written insructions
Ability to assist in behavior management and intervention
Ability to work well with children
Ability to quickly respond to behavioral issues
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to build relationships with students with the guidelines of GISD
Experience:
Some experience working in a public school setting or with children preferred
Citizenship, residency, or work visa in the United States required
