Librarian/Media Specialist

Supervise and manage the school library/media center. Provide services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and using information to solve problems. Provide an environment that invites students into the library- prior to the school day, during the school day, and after school. Provide innovative programs for student engagement and real world interaction. Serve as teacher, materials expert, and curriculum advisor to ensure that library/media center is involved in instructional programs of the school.

Job Requirements
- Education/Certification/License:
Master’s degree from accredited college or university in Library Science or other educational discipline preferred
Valid Texas librarian or learning resources specialist certificate or endorsement preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of library science and media
Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
Ability to use technology equipment and train others in its use
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Climbing, stretching, frequent light lifting of books, boxes
Experience:
At least three years teaching experience
- Citizenship, residency OR WORK VISA IN United States required
